LaserSense™ and Chemical Peels

What are Chemical Peels?

A chemical peel is a cosmetic treatment that involves the application of a chemical solution to the skin. The solution is designed to exfoliate the top layer of dead skin cells, revealing fresh, new skin underneath. Chemical peels can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions, including acne, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone and texture.

Different Kinds of Chemical Peels

  1. Superficial peel – A mild chemical solution is applied to the skin, exfoliating the top layer of dead skin cells.
  2. Medium peel – A stronger chemical solution is applied to the skin, penetrating deeper into the skin to target more severe skin conditions.
  3. Deep peel – The strongest chemical solution is applied to the skin, penetrating deep into the skin to remove deep wrinkles, scars, and other skin imperfections.

Chemical peels are typically done on the face, neck, chest, or hands. The procedure is done in a skincare professional’s office and usually takes about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the strength of the peel.

During the procedure, the chemical solution is applied to the skin and left on for a few minutes. The solution is then neutralized and removed. The procedure may cause a mild tingling or burning sensation, but it is generally well-tolerated. After the peel, the skin may be slightly red and sensitive, but this usually resolves within a few hours.

Chemical peels are considered safe and effective for most skin types. However, people with certain skin conditions, such as rosacea or eczema, may not be good candidates for chemical peels. It is important to talk to a skincare professional before undergoing any cosmetic treatment.

Overall, chemical peels are a popular and effective way to improve the appearance of the skin. They can help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture and tone, and provide a refreshed, more youthful look.

LaserSense for Chemical Peels

LaserSense™ Dermal Spray contains pure Perfomance Stabilized HOCl (hypochlorous acid) and is a safe product that has a range of benefits for the skin before and after a chemical peel.

Here are some of the benefits of LaserSense™ for chemical peels:

  1. Cleanses The Skin – HOCl can effectively kill microorganisms; bacteria, viruses, and fungi that can cause skin infections including S. aureus-MRSA. Using LaserSense Dermal Spray before a chemical peel cleanses the skin and reduces the risk of infection.
  2. Reduces Inflammation – HOCl has anti-inflammatory properties that reduces redness and swelling in the skin. This can be especially beneficial after a chemical peel, which causes skin irritation, tightness and inflammation.
  3. Promotes Healing – HOCl can help to speed up the healing process for wounds and skin conditions. After a chemical peel, the skin may be more sensitive and vulnerable to infection, and HOCl can increase oxygenation to help promote healing and prevent further damage.
  4. Moisturizes The Skin – LaserSense Post-Procedure Gel can help to keep the skin hydrated and moisturized, reducing pruritus and inflammation after a chemical peel while still providing the healing benefits of HOCl. HOCl is clinically proven to reduce itch. -50% of patients reported improvement on Day 1 and 85% reported improvement in itch Day 3!
  5. Safe, Steroid free and Non-toxic – LaserSense is safe and gentle on all skin types and ages. It is safe for use before and after a chemical peel without causing any adverse side effects.

By using LaserSense before and after a chemical peel, you can help to prepare the skin, reduce the risk of infection, and help promote healing, recovery, and results. It is important to talk to a skincare professional before undergoing any cosmetic treatment to determine the best approach for your individual needs and skin type.
